This is totally an ugly pic of me, but Lisa made this vase with pictures of the kids and it was so pretty, I couldn't help but cry. We sure miss you guys and this vase is a daily reminder of you guys. It matches great in our kitchen because it is a purple and olive green theme. We decided that we would get artificial flowers that would match and keep those in the vase. Thank You Guys very much. Love You, Jesse and Kari

Home Grown Love

Jesse and I learned on Sunday that our money is Gods money and he gives it to us to manage it. So if we are given this income to manage, then we need to invest it on things that will multiply. We decided that junk food isn't really a necessity and we should definately do more fruits and veggies and not so much processed foods. We also decided that since we DO eat all these veggies we should try and make them an investment. We decided to plant a garden this year and save a little on home grown produce.

I started with tomatoes, these will go into a pot when they are mature. Right now they are in this green house platter.

We then move onto broccoli and these, when ready, will go into the ground. We planted all these a little early because we can always keep them inside. And if they don't grow we will have time to replant.
We finished off with lettuce. I don't know how these will do. We also have green onion, jalepeno peppers, and bell peppers. The fruit from the peppers, depending on what we reap, will be frozen for use in the winter. The last 3 veggies will have to be planted closer to the summer because they have less of a germination and maturation period.
Here is a beautiful tree down the street from us with snow on it.

Frozen Trees

This is down the street from our house, in front of the water tower.
This is a fog freeze, so my mom heard. It made the frost or snow freeze wierd on the branches of everything.

Here is our drain pipe with frozen icicles.

Our house is on the right and in the background is our church. This is the wierd freeze.

This is our choke cherrry tree again.

Here is my Valentine's Day present from Jesse, he wrote on my mirror and got me these flowers to match my bathroom. And a bible to carry to church.

This is my Valentine's Table.

I made this, copying the lady I babysit for. The 3 hearts say; God is Love.

Ok, so we went ice fishing last weekend and as we were sitting there on the ice we prayed that we would catch fish. The things he catches are our dinner and since we have been tight on money the fish really help. The funny thing was he caught 2 fish and no one else really caught anything. There were nibbles, but no fish. The man Jesse fishes with is a wonderful fisherman and he has taught Jesse many things, he didn't even catch anything. This man always leaves with the max on fish. We were just blessed because how could we end up with fish and no one else have anything, there were even quite a few poles on the ice! Praise Jesus

Scrappin' Crazy

So I have been scrapbookin like a wild woman because I want our family to see all the wonderful things we have done. Here is a baby shower we had, I used polk-a-dot ribbon as a border for some words. I used Pink flower stickers and I wrote what happened.
This is our fireproof ball and I decided to only mat the pic of Jesse and I because matted pics stand out more. I thought we were the most important thing on the page. I also used our movie ticket and one of our church bulletins for fireproof series.

Here is us at a picnic on the river, I matted all this pics on here. I have also used childrens picture books and cut out my fav pictures for this scene. The one cut-out I made going across the 2 pages so it flows all together.

Here is the girls professional pics they had done... this is in Jesse's album of his fam. On Lily's I uses plain paper and put cut outs from picture books (relating to school), this saves alot of money instead of buying stickers. I did Emma's very plain so you get the full effect of her.

Here is the garcia's fishing and swimming, sometimes I can't do a 2-page spread of one topic so I did 2 similiar topics. Again I used pic book cutouts, and I did not mat anything. When the paper is kinda plain you don't have to use mats, if the paper is wild you might want to mat the pics because they can get lost in the paper! Always put the date on your page so you know how old everyone was and the year.
I sometimes take only 6-8 pictures of the most important things that we do, so I don't have a million pictures to choose from. It can get overwhelming to have 20 pics of one topic because you tend to want to use all of them. It also save $ so you don't have to print a million pictures. If you just can't help taking alot of pictures, then print them in wallet size so you can fit them all on the page. I love rubber cement for glue, your pages won't curl!

Ice Fishing on Saturday!~

My poor kitty wanted to go with mommy and daddy to Willow Creek to fish! Let me clear something up creek is pronounced crik!!

Here is the first catch of the day. He got 2 fish and no one got anything else. The guy he goes with is an excellent fisherman I mean even down to tying the lures on to the line. The guy always gets 5-10 fish and he didn't even get anything.

Here is my big head in the way, but the background shows the Rocky Mountain Front. I didn 't get a better picture because the wind was blowing about 40-50 miles an hour. Peoples stuff was literally blowing across the ice like 300+ yards. It was wild, I had a lot of fun. If the wind wasn't blowing I would go again.
Here I am, I know what I look like! Oh, I fell on the ice too! It was really funny!
Here is the sunrise with the fishermen waiting for their catch.

Fire Brigade

Okay, so you all are going to laugh at me... Two days in a row we had the smoke alarm going off. It went off twice when Jesse was showering and once when I was boiling beans. The first time we took the proper precautions and checked everything and we didn't smell smoke. We figured the oil lamps or the steam from his shower set off the alarm. The second time it went off we didn't have the oil lamps going so we ruled that out as the problem. Jesse was showering and we figured it was the shower. The 3rd time was when I was boiling the beans and it really concerned me because it is 3 times in 2 days. I called 911 and I explained to the lady that it wasn't an emergency, but if she may know or not if it could be the steam. She said she should send someone out anyways. The big, red, fire-truck came driving down the street and parked right in front of our house! They were very thorough and I was super pleased. They checked the attic and crawl-space, didn't find anything. Right before he left he decided to check the circuit breaker and what do ya know, the smoke alarm one had be set off. He told us that the next time we shower or boil beans and the alarm sounds, go and check the breaker and see if it trips. If it does we have to call the builder and have the electrician come out and check. It was worth them coming out because we at least know there may be a problem. I even got emotional because we have worked so hard to have all of our wonderful things and the thought of something like fire is scary. All is good so far, I let ya know if the electrician comes out!!

Thanks Dad and Donna

Here are the things I got with my Jo-Ann's gift card you got me for Christmas. This stuff is for my table; there is a Valentines and St. Patricks table cloth. And fabric to make placemats for St. Patricks and 4th of July.
Here are some more things I got, all of the things in this picture were $1 except the picture frame with is in the back ground. The tags came 88 for a dollar, you'd be proud of your thrifty spender. Why not get the cheaper tags since you get 88 of 'em?

Here are some more things I found, the stamps, glitter glue, ink pads, paper and 3 stickers were $1 or under! The pens were only 2.50, If you can't tell I am proud of all the finds for a dollar. I got alot for my money and I made out pretty good.
I also got a basket that has dark wood woven through and light blue strands on a section. This is for my bedroom, so I can put my books and book lights and water in it at bedtime. We are getting organized at my house. My basket was 50% off so it was $10. I also got a holder for a spoon when I am cooking. In the dollar bin they have kids books and I got a little birthday present for the boy I watch. Thanks again you guys, it was much appreciated!!!
